Start with the water in your own building

A mosquito does not need much water. A saucer under a plant is enough, and so is an AC tray or a blocked balcony drain. In a Nerul society, the usual spots are overhead and underground tanks, parking areas, blocked drains, terrace corners and any construction work next door.

When to book

• Keep tank lids tight, and check they still fit.
• Fit mesh on windows and balcony doors.
• Keep your balcony drain clear, and report any blocked common drain to the society.

• What is the fogging charge for a flat in Nerul?

  Mosquito control starts at ₹1,800. A single flat is at the lower end, and a complex with gardens, parking and tanks costs more. We look at the place first and give you the figure in writing. Societies can ask for a monsoon package rather than paying for each visit.

• How long does fogging keep mosquitoes away?

  It works right away, and the relief lasts about 15 to 30 days, depending on the weather and how many mosquitoes are around. That is why we suggest a visit every month in the monsoon, and one every two months the rest of the year.

• Can you make my home completely mosquito free?

• Should children and pets stay out during fogging?

  Yes. Keep them out of the area until the technician says it is fine to go back in, and close what you are told to close. Cover food and any aquarium. Tell us when you book if anyone at home has breathing trouble, so that we can plan around them.

• Can a Nerul East society get a yearly mosquito plan?

  Yes. A society can book a plan for common areas, gardens, parking, tanks and drains on fixed dates, with more visits during the monsoon. You get one check and one written quote for the whole property. That is much easier for a committee than every flat booking separately.

• Where can mosquitoes breed inside my flat?

  Check plant saucers, AC trays, the tray under the fridge, stored buckets, unused bathroom traps and balcony drains. A little still water is enough. Scrub these once a week as well as emptying them, because the eggs can stay stuck on the sides when you only tip the water out.

• Someone in our Nerul building has dengue. Can you come quickly?
